Plate Up! | The Best Overcooked Game That Isn't Overcooked!?
This is a review of PlateUp! developed by It's Happening, released in 2022 on PC and coming in October 2023 for PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
It's a very similar sort of game to Overcooked, being a co-op focused party game set in a kitchen, however it's got some tricks up it's sleeve to make it distinct from the game it's inspired by, particularly in the way that it's structured as a rogue-like.
But can it dethrone Overcooked as the king of co-op games? Let's take a look and find out!

How to Fix Bad Video Quality on Your Dreamcast | Kaico Dreamcast HDMI Adapter Review
Переглядів 4,8 тис.Рік тому
This is an unboxing and review of the Kaico Dreamcast HDMI Adapter. After recently purchasing my first ever Dreamcast console, I quickly discovered that the standard composite video cables don't do the system any justice due to the graphics being distorted and blurry. This is where Kaico and their Dreamcast HDMI Adapter come in, supposedly offering far superior visuals than what's offered by co...
I Got My First Dreamcast in 2023! Was It Worth It?
Переглядів 5 тис.Рік тому
I've recently become very interested in picking up a Dreamcast after doing some research into some of the games that are available on it. I've never really been interested in a Sega console before but the Dreamcast has piqued my interest for a number of reasons. Firstly it has quite a lot of first party Sega games that I've never experienced before such as Jet Set Radio, The House of the Dead 2...
The Brutal Video Game Adaptations of Berserk
Переглядів 950Рік тому
In this video, we're taking a look at every single video game adaptation of Berserk. Berserk is often ranked as one of the greatest manga ever created and after reading through the series for the first time, it's definitely lived up to the hype. With Berserk being so popular and acclaimed, it only makes sense that it would have received a few video games over the years, but the question is, do ...

The Crazy Japanese Exclusive Ape Escape Games
Переглядів 10 тис.Рік тому
I've been a long time fan of the Ape Escape series and played through the main numbered entries quite a few times. I've even played a few of the spin offs that were released on the PSP, so I consider myself to be something of an ape connessiour. However, in the back of my mind, I've always known that there's a whole set of Ape Escape games I've never had access to and the reason for this is bec...
The Secret Sequels of The Nightmare Before Christmas
Переглядів 2 тис.Рік тому
The Nightmare Before Christmas is not only a holiday classic that I watch every year but also something of a movie masterpiece and one of my favourite films ever made. Since releasing in 1993 the film has gained a huge following and receives new merchandise every year and even has live events dedicated to it. This begs the question, why has The Nightmare Before Christmas never received a sequel...

Scooby-Doo! Unmasked | The Best Scooby Doo Game Ever!?
Переглядів 10 тис.Рік тому
Welcome to the third and final part of the Scooby-Doo-a-Thon! This time we're looking at Scooby-Doo! Unmasked which was developed by Artificial Mind and Movement and released in 2005 for the PS2, Xbox and GameCube. This game goes back to trying to convert the Scooby Doo series into a 3D collect-a-thon platformer, so the main question I have going into this is how does it compare to Night of 100...

Welcome to the second video of the Scooby-Doo-a-Thon! This time we're taking a look at the second Scooby-Doo game released on sixth gen consoles with Scooby Doo! Mystery Mayhem. This one was developed by Artificial Mind and Movement and released in 2004 on the PS2, Xbox and GameCube. Mystery Mayhem definitely isn't as fondly remembered as Night of 100 Frights and I hardly ever hear anyone bring...

Night of 100 Frights, released in 2002 for the PS2, GameCube and Xbox. It was actually developed by none other than Heavy Iron Studios, the same team behind the beloved SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom which came out a year after this. I'm going into ...
Unboxing the Super Monkey Ball Soundtrack on Vinyl!
Переглядів 541Рік тому
Hi there! Welcome to this unboxing video where we're taking a look at the Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania soundtrack on vinyl! Despite the fact that this is marketed as the Banana Mania OST (even going as far as to say it on the spine of the record), it actually has tracks from the original GameCube titles and some of the other games too! It's like a celebration of all of the music from the seri...

My Best games on Dreamcast... "SILVER" .."RAYMAN2" .."GRANDIA2" .."SOULREAVER" .."GTA2" .."LODOSS WAR" and "CODE VERONICA".. All look Stunning with a VGA Hdmi cable except Code Veronica which you will need a Dreamcast Scart RGB cable TV input. Sorry but to really play Dreamcast games looking their best you will need to invest in an old PLASMA TV with "SCART" "VGA" "COMPONENT" and "HDMI" input connections. They are really easy to find and very cheap to buy... Just make sure they have all of the game cable connections I have mentioned... Best Wishes and Happy Retro Gaming.
Playing on an emulator at 400% speed (100 fps) and using savestates, the game actually feels playable and less sluggish
The racism of the game is intentional. Old Danish white men, casual racist humor was the norm in Denmark.
And yes, the stereotype accents are in Danish too. It's such a dumb choice, because the Danes making the game laughs at their juvenile joke, then sales plummet when the game is translated into German and other languages they make fun off, and the jokes fall flat, or the racism has to be oriented somewhere else
Wanna know the really sad thing? this was my first spyro game, and it turned me off from spyro till i played the legend trilogy as a teenager, which is surprisingly good given how different it is from the original games
That's a ps3 controller in your hand
That's because I was playing it on PS3 😅
Technically the Robin Hood costume shoots, toilet plungers.
I played Jet Set Radio and Sega Rally and worked fine. But when I want to play Tokyo Extrem Racer, the dreamcast tells be to switch cable, because it doesn´t run with that cable. Any workaround to start it with this HDMI cable?
Unfortunately any game that doesn't support VGA video output won't work with this Kaico adapter. I've ran into the same issue with Resident Evil: Code Veronica and there doesn't seem to be any way around it. The only thing you can do is swap to either composite cables or a scart cable which isn't ideal.
Excellent job with this series of videos. I could not stop watching and was compelled to watch the next video immediately. Well done thank you
Thank you! I'm happy you enjoyed them 🙂 Now we just need to look forward to the next game haha!
I enjoyed the video. This game was one of my favorites when it was new. I remember having a quick save feature when i played Abe's Odyssey. Maybe im mistaken. Great game
Thanks for watching! It's still one of my favourites even to this day! The remake has the quick save feature so maybe it's possible you're thinking of that? Either that or you're getting it muddled with Exoddus which would be easy to do considering they look very similar!
what kinda visual detail did he notice?
Awesome video! Never knew that Pumped and Primed was localized in English and I didn't even know Ape Escape Racing existed!!
Thank you! Yeah it's pretty crazy how many Ape Escape games there actually are once you start digging a bit deeper! Ape Escape Racing has got to be one of the strangest ones for sure!
I also have this game :) It was one of my favorite games when i was a kid..
I was thinking about getting this and the kaiko line doubler for the Nintendo 64
I would have bought a PSP if the last one was on it in English. Damn
Can't wait for a new video. I'm here since your Hugo series haha.
Don't worry, I'm going to be back very soon with some new stuff I'm very excited about!
See you soon
The racing game is very reminiscent of kinetica. It had a similiar "vehicle" design. Which was based on a relatively growing hobby at the time. Where people had outfits and little wheel handles amd wheel led shin braces and bombed down hills.
Ape escape 2001 reminds me of Blinx Time Sweeper
I recommend *Soul* *Calibur* and Power Stone.
Fromsoft, Cygames, and Platinum Games need to form a team specifically to fully adapt Berserk as one or two games.
I personally want to see a Berserk game where you don't play as Guts or any of the characters from the manga but it tells its own story that's potentially set in one of the neighbouring regions to Midland that we've not seen much of. I think Santa Monica Studio could also do a really good job with adapting Berserk too!
I'm 36 and seeing the bad ending as a kid still haunts me.
Hey just a question but will you take an in depth look in the good endings of the Oddworld games this October?
Oh my god, I just found you outside of Retro Dodo!
Haha, welcome to my personal channel! The videos here are a little bit different but I hope you enjoy them nonetheless!
there were two games in that same era that i enjoyed but everyone seemed to dislike, those were crash bandicoot the wrath of cortex and this game
OMG I need to get a copy of SaruSaru Big Mission
My kids like your video and tips, thanks
Thanks for watching! I'm glad they enjoyed the video 😀
Moral: don't do bad.
2:18 man… that intro starting… it brings me right back to 1998.
7:56 I Think You Went McDonald’s Crazy.
java games were released in different versions for different phones to adjust the their screen size the version of Tip 'n Tilt 2 that you included in the video is for a phone with a smaller screen, that's why it looks kinda bad there are versions for a bigger screen with better resolution the first game still looks better imo
The fact you have home video of getting this as a gift is one of the greatest achievements of man. My family was into the Muppets and my brother wanted to get this cause Jim Henson's name was on the case, and even as like a 4-5 year old I had a premonition it was bad.
Of all the games I got as a kid this would be the one with the best home video footage 😅 I have memories of it being awful but I think that's because I never actually got very far. It's not amazing or anything but it definitely has some awesome ideas! Haha, if you went into this expecting something like the Muppets, I can see why you'd be disappointed!
you dare skip oddtober lol
I had to skip my October marathon completely last year because I was so busy! This year I'm hoping to do something but I've got no idea what!
Oddworld's bad endings are a punishment towards the player if they fucked up during their playthroughs. Either it be failing to save all Mudokons, use a dark power constantly so it corrupts the amulet's spirit, or having less than 50% Quarma. So moral of the story is: Don't ignore a bit of small-fries on the lower levels. Rescue all of them so Abe would be claimed as a hero, and they'd make it out alive, and everything will return to the way it is before their enslavement. I'm not a masochist for bad endings, but Oddworld, Persona 3, 4, & 5, Sonic 2(Game Gear), and Banjo-Kazooie's bad endings are just so dark and distressing that they encourage the player to try again, whereas the latter was intentional if they save and quit the game or lose all lives.
Have you reviewed the PSP Ape Escape games or that PS3 Ape Escape with PS Move features and if you haven't, will you review it?
I haven't reviewed them yet, but I definitely want to take a look at them at some point. I've never even played the PS Move one so that would be particularly interesting!
🔵💨 🔴💨 ⚫️💨 ⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ 🟨🟨🟨🟨🟨🟨 🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥
I got this headcanon where Abe has a secret 4th scar related to the invisibility powers but we don’t see it cuz it’s a tramp stamp.
From that brand, that adapter and the one for the original Xbox are probably the best. I just had DCHDMI mod installed, and the adapter made the games look better.
I have this game but i haven't played it in years. I never got past the theme park level lol
Stop crying, this game is 20+ years old, it's very very good for its time. I have no complains, it has many different and beautiful ideas to develop the story and its very exciting. I'm giving it a 9/10.
I don't know, I think even at the time it was reasonably mediocre due to some of the more tedious elements. It did have some really cool ideas though and I have a lot of nostalgia for it. The beginning of the game in particular with the first level where you bounce bullets around to solve puzzles and then chase the train before making your way to the front is amazing. It just never quite reaches that height again after that 😅
The GBA version of this game gave Shaggy overpowered abilities lol.
The zoom out to the fire extinguisher during the Soulstorm ending is legitimately one of the funniest pieces of visual comedy I've ever seen because i legitimately can't tell if they did it as a taunting visual gag or as a legitimate "a bridge too far" moment. Like, even if he got to the fire extinguisher, then what? There's no putting out a fire that large. Not to mention all three of them were actively on fire, even if they survived the fire completely unharmed, they can't reach the controls and are literally moments away from crashing into the factory and exploding.
i hope that once devs are done with quintology they gonna comeback to those cancelled games
11:29 abe really had to pull a "i cant... STOP ITT!" huh? plus begging micheal to not leave him there.
This shit was traumatising back when I was a kid and failed at getting the good endings
A major point about these reviews should be that these games were intended for children, not fully grown adults with over a decade of gaming experience.
While that's absolutely true, I still think that games primarily aimed at children can be fun for anyone. I mean Mario games are aimed primarily at kids and everybody loves them. Plus, games aimed at children still need to have a degree of quality, even when I was a kid I could tell the difference between a good game and a bad game, so I still think reviewing stuff like this is somewhat interesting.
You have a very lovely voice! Subbed
Thank you! It's not very often that people say that 😅 normally it's actually the opposite! Thanks for subscribing!
None of my HDMI cables work on this..
That's weird... It's definitely not the video output on the console itself? Can you test it with other cables?
I played both but I played night of 100 frights way more, and I still prefer it. I'm replaying night of 100 frights right now so I'll see how they hold up after playing unmasked afterwards.
Night of 100 Frights is definitely the more popular game, it was the only one of this weird trilogy of games that I had previously briefly played back in the day. I think Night of 100 Frights is way closer to the actual TV show which makes it far more charming, but for me Unmasked is the overall best even if it doesn't feel as much like Scooby Doo.
helloooooo im an electric caaaaar
I don't know what Oddworld Inhabitants did to not get the ending where Soulstorm was a good, successful game that paved a bright future for the franchise but the ending they got was pretty goddamn depressing.
Honestly out of the three that I played I liked this one the least, 100 frights at number one, MM at 2. But it was still a pretty competent game.
